That is the buzz of the moment. Oscar bosses are already looking for a host for 2009 Oscar Awards, and they might be giving Justin Timberlake a call. The singer just hosted the Espy Awards, and it was a great success. I tuned in myself, and I thought he did a wonderful job as a host for the awards. He’s funny and he’s really to go the extra mile for a laugh. He even once again impersonated Jessica Simpson as he did once before on Saturday Night Live.
It does appear the Oscars needs new blood. Viewership was down for this year’s ceremony hosted by Jon Stewart. I tuned in, and it was a good show for the time they had to put into it. Many were wondering if the ceremony would even happen. The Golden Globes were handed out in a press conference, and some thought Oscar would do the same. This was all due to the writer’s strike that crippled much of everything in the television and movie world for three months earlier this year.
I think Justin Timberlake would be a great host for the awards. He is an actor, a singer, and he has creat comic timing. He knows how to work a celebrity crowd too. He can see who is front of him, and come up with an instant gag. This would make him something to watch, and it could make the award ceremony that seems to drag on forever a bit more enjoyable for all involved. I would love to see him take on the show, and maybe bring in someone to help.
